I had read other people's reviews saying that this item was lightweight, durable, etc. They were right. I was able to carry it from a friend's place to my office which is about 17 blocks apart from each other. It has a convenient carry handle that when turned one way will keep the ladder shut.
As a warning, be aware that turning the handle the other way will permit the ladder to open-->it will only open it if turned FULLY to one side. The handle is a locking device as well as a handle. This ends up being pretty user friendly when you get used to it.
Another warning is when closing the ladder, make sure the paper towel holder is turned the right way so it closes easily.
This ladder does have all the drawers, etc. on the top like the photo shows.
I've been using a decent amount and it is holding up well. :)
