I can't imagine putting a pistol in a conventional safe, and being awakened in the dead-of-night and have to fiddle with keys or dials or keypads; the biometric access is really easy, and very fast! I leave to the reader to decide whether handling a firearm when you're tired is a good idea or not...!
Some have complained that the safe isn't super-secure; I think that's a bum rap. It's sturdy enough to slow-down both amateur and professional, and that's good enough for me. I cut the back out of a closet cabinet and lag-bolted it 3" into a 2x4 in the back wall; it can probably be extricated from the wall with a big enough crowbar, but lemme tell ya it would be difficult and you'd make a heckuva racket in doing it (ripping the cabinet apart and the safe out of the wall.
I see nothing wrong with the beep tones the safe emits--maybe my old ears aren't as sensitive as others. This safe is Highly Recommended, for very fast access to you-know-what.
